More information about LENT at Saint Jude's

Catholic Appeal
Fr. Conley will speak at all masses about the vital importance of this annual support for the Archdiocese on the weekend of March 6-7: March 6-7, will be Catholic Appeal Weekend here at St. Jude. Cardinal Seán is asking every Catholic household to participate. The Appeal is to our Archdiocese what the weekly offertory is to our parish, so your participation and support are critical. Because of the economic downturn, support of the Catholic Appeal is more urgent this year. Those of you who gave to the Appeal last year should be receiving a letter from Msgr. Conley this week. We invite all others to take home an information packet from Mass this weekend. Please bring your completed pledge card and pledge envelopes with you to St. Jude’s the weekend of March 13-14 to place in the collection basket. Thank you!

Congratulations
are in order for the 10th
grade St. Jude CYO boys basketball team coached by Jim Schmidt. They have qualified for the 2010 Archdiocese of Boston CYO Basketball tournament which starts March 6 & 7 at Milton High School.

Sharing Sunday
Our monthly food collection to help those in need, will take place next weekend, March 13 & 14. As people continue to deal with the loss of jobs, the pantry is receiving more requests for help. The pantry is looking to stock their shelves with the following staples: peanut butter, rice, tuna, pasta and sauce. Your donations should be brought to Mass next weekend. In addition, monetary donations are gratefully accepted. Thank you for your generous support each month

Stations of the Cross
will be on Thursday evenings during Lent, as part of the Holy Hour.

From the Deacon
There is a Native American
quote that states “The day you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice”. On behalf of my family and myself, we wish to say thank you for your sympathy. We greatly appreciate all your kind words, prayers, the wonderful food, the generous donation of your time, all the cards and flowers. We realize how truly blessed we are to be a part of such a wonderful parish and although there are still tears for the death of my brother Stephen, we take great comfort in your friendship. THANK YOU! Yours in Christ, Deacon David Ghioni and famil. Posted 020710

Perpetual Adoration returns to Boston
On Aug. 15, the Feast of the Assumption, St. Clement Eucharistic Shrine began perpetual Adoration (Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 24/7). St. Clement has been named one of the six designated locations in the diocese to pray for the sanctification of priests and vocations to the priesthood, and is the only perpetual adoration site in Boston.  Adorers are needed at all times of the day and night.  Please prayerfully consider committing to spending one hour a week with the Lord.  For more info, contact AdorationBoston@gmail.com or visit www.AdorationBoston.org or call Rich McKinney at 617-536-4141.
